In July 2001, the NASM-provided HSPICE was completely rewritten from scratch by Andres Salazar and included as a component of NASM (it is not supported by Sprint). The new NASM-HSPICE (also known as "NASM2") cannot be used for earlier designs; it does not support any binary input files generated by NASM. NASM2 has all the capabilities of the original HSPICE, and can be used to simulate circuits with speedups as high as 1.8, and also includes enhanced support for vector math and waveforms. NASM includes a tool for automatically generating HSPICE source code from its C++ object code for all configurations between 4 and 16 MIPS.
